By taking a number of subtle style cues from chess, The Grandmaster Mark II pays tribute to the game that has captivated legions of followers for well over a millennium.  The dial is steel white with a hint of shimmer, and the outer edge is decorated with a refined guilloché pattern as well as raised indexes in silver. Contrasted by cobalt blue lancet-shaped hands, the Grandmaster Mark II provides unbeatable readability. The Swiss Made STP 1-11 movement is visible through the caseback and is protected by a case of polished stainless steel and a double domed sapphire crystal.  Delivered on an Italian handmade brown leather strap. Limited to 300 pieces.

INSPIRATION

Øyvind Von Doren Asbjørnsen was a film director & producer before he founded Von Doren. After making two films about Magnus Carlsen, namely The Prince of Chess (2005) and MAGNUS (2016), the effort and strength required of a chess player to achieve the title Grandmaster was a natural inspiration.

Self-winding movement with 44 hours power reserve, 26 jewels and running at 4hz (28,800 vph). Clutch wheels to avoid overwinding. Rotor decorated with Geneva stripes and plates and bridges decorated with perlage. Tested in 5 positions.

Swiss Made STP 1-11 automatic movement.
