OUR STORY
It all started with a Swiss wristwatch that spoke across the generations. An heirloom from a great-grandfather to his great-grandson which helped shape a horological destiny.
Founder Øyvind VonDoren Asbjørnsen has a very special relationship with fine timepieces. It all started at the age of 12, when he inherited his great-grandfather’s treasured Swiss watch. In the young VonDoren, it stirred an exceptional passion for wristwatches. Although only a child, he started reading about notable timepieces with a passion. This young boy in his home town of Aalesund, Norway, was at the beginning of a journey destined to last a lifetime.
Today, Norwegian brand Von Doren creates distinctive, high-quality timepieces with a touch of vintage flair. The company, established in 2016, takes much of its inspiration from the magnificent nature that surrounds Aalesund. The port town, which lies on the West coast of Norway, is surrounded by breathtaking fjords, mountains and waterfalls. It is also renowned for its unique Art Nouveau architecture, with its elegant lines and stone buildings influenced by American architecture and national romantic details.
