Von Doren

TREASUREMASTER, 39 mm

Treasuremaster is inspired by the sunken treasure carried by the Dutch ship Akerendam and discovered outside of Runde, Norway. Since the first automatic watch was not invented until approx 50 years after Akerendam sank, Von Doren Treasuremaster is powered by a workhorse of a Swiss hand-wound movement, namely the Sellita SW210-1. This wristwatch is an exclusive and refined mechanical watch based on Von Doren Runde, with a new dial design, sapphire crystal, embossed caseback and the option of a bracelet with fitted end links.

INSPIRATION

In 1725, the Dutch ship Akerendam set course from Texel to Batavia in Indonesia. The ship was loaded with over 57,000 gold and silver coins that were to be exchanged for spices and silk. Akerendam never reached Indonesia, but ended its journey in a terrible storm near the island of Runde off Ålesund. The ship's cargo was not discovered until 1972. At that time, the treasure had remained untouched on the seabed for almost 250 years.
